One World One Voice

Hi, I’m Andy Rogers, from Solihull in the West Midlands here in the UK. Its true to say I’ve loved music all my life. My dad was a big fan of Big Band, swing and jazz and I grew up to the sounds of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Errol Garner (and Russ Conway, but that’s a different story!). I had piano lessons as a boy and still love to play keyboards now – my yearly Christmas give-away CD is legendary amongst friends and family (!) …

I have a big collection of music owning many hundreds of CD’s and my tastes cover everything from Thomas Tallis to Nightwish. I love “New Age”, classical and folk music but am also a big fan of  Nick Drake, The Beatles, ELO and the much under-rated Clifford T. Ward.

These last few years I have developed a passion for World music. Like a lot of people I initially looked on the genre with suspicion thinking it would be difficult to enjoy but what I’ve realised is that music really IS the universal language and it is this I would like to share with you through “One World One Voice”. Approach the show  with an open mind, ignore the fact it isn’t necessarily sung in English and please, enjoy the music – you might be pleasantly surprised !
